Before you start
EternalReels is a WooCommerce plugin. You need:
- WordPress 6.0 or newer
- WooCommerce 7.0 or newer, already set up with products
- PHP 7.4 or newer
Installation
- Download the plugin ZIP from your dashboard after purchase
- Go to Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin in your WordPress admin
- Select the ZIP file and click Install Now
- Click Activate
After activation you get a new EternalReels menu in the WordPress sidebar, with Settings, Manage Reels, Analytics and License.
Activate your license
- Go to EternalReels, License
- Enter the license key from your purchase confirmation email, or copy it from your dashboard
- Click Activate
The key is bound to the domain you activate it on. Uploading video and viewing analytics both require an active license.
Connect the media server
Product video does not sit in your WordPress media library. It is uploaded to EternalCDN, our own media server, which produces the poster image and the streaming URLs and serves them from the edge. That keeps large video files off your hosting and out of your backups.
- Go to EternalReels, Settings
- Under Media server, set the API base URL to
https://eternalcdn.in - Paste your API key
- Save
Your media API key is issued by us along with your license. If you do not have one, write to support@eternaltech.dev.
The key is stored on your server and is never sent to the browser. Uploads are streamed from your server to the media server, so the key never reaches a visitor.
Set your playback defaults
Still on the Settings screen, choose how videos behave by default. You can override most of these per feed later.
- Autoplay when in view, plays a video once it scrolls into the viewport
- Start muted, required by browsers for autoplay to work at all. Leave this on if you use autoplay
- Lazy load videos, holds off loading until the video is needed
- Default layout, feed, carousel or grid
- Default button, Add to Cart or Buy Now
- Buy Now goes straight to checkout, skips the cart page
Next steps
You are ready to add your first video. See Adding a Product Video, then Displaying the Feed.
