Where the video is added
Video is attached to a product, not to a page. Open any product under Products in WordPress. In the right hand sidebar you will see a panel called Shoppable Video (EternalReels).
Upload
- Tick Show this product in the shoppable feed
- Click Upload video and pick your file
- Wait for the progress bar to finish and the preview to appear
- Update the product
Accepted formats are MP4, WebM and MOV. The upload limit is 512 MB per video. Files are sent to the media server in small chunks, so a large upload does not run into your hosting's upload size limit.
The poster image and the streaming URL are produced by the media server. You do not need to make a thumbnail yourself.
What makes a good reel
- Shoot vertical. The feed is built for portrait video, the way a shopper already holds their phone
- Keep it short. Ten to thirty seconds holds attention
- Show the product in use in the first two seconds
- Assume there is no sound. Video autoplays muted, so anything essential has to be visible
Choose the button
Under Button, pick what the viewer sees on this video:
- Add to Cart, adds the product without leaving the video, so the shopper can keep browsing
- Buy Now, adds the product and moves the shopper on to checkout
Whether Buy Now skips the cart page is set once for the whole site under EternalReels, Settings.
Tag other products in the same video
If one video features more than one product, put the other product IDs in Also tag products, separated by commas, for example 1024, 1130. Those products appear alongside the main one so a shopper can buy any of them from the same video.
You can find a product ID in the URL when you edit it, in the post= part.
Variable products
If the product has variations, the viewer picks the variation inside the video before the button becomes active. Out of stock variations are shown as unavailable rather than hidden, so the shopper understands why they cannot buy.
Managing your videos
Go to EternalReels, Manage Reels to see every product that has a video, in one place, without opening each product.
Replacing or removing a video
To replace, open the product and click Replace video. To take a product out of the feed without deleting the video, untick Show this product in the shoppable feed and update.
